Because of labeling laws, if the FDA does not have an ingredient on their list, the manufacturer has to choose what's closest to it. iHeRQles contains plant-fermented alcohol, not food grade ethanol. In the extraction process of the plant molecules, they use a fermenting process and leave a small amount of that fermented alcohol in the product to stabilize it. The FDA does not have these plant-fermented alcohols on their list, which is why this ingredient is listed as food-grade ethanol alcohol.
